Last news post in April????
Date: Thursday, August 12, 2004

Holy crap somebody's slacking! Sorry, I have been super busy lately, so I just haven't been able to maintain this page too well. If any HMC'ers out there would be interested in posting news and comments please feel free to e-mail me at kevin@hmckickboxing.com. You must remember to keep it clean though, so I guess that leaves Vince out! Anyhow couple of events coming up, first of all we have a PIP fight on Friday Aug. 27th at Kapolei High School. Dean Lista will be taking on PJ Dean! This fight looks to be very exciting as both fighters break into the world of MMA. Good luck Dean! Secondly, Brazilian Freestyle Jiu Jitsu is hosting a tournament the very next day at Saint Louis High school! I hope all the talented grapplers at HMC will be trying this tourney.*hint*hint* to Instructor Mike to quit slacking and get to training! Oh well, whoever has creative writing skills, please drop me a line.

Congrats to Deshawn & Charuto!
Date: Monday, October 13, 2003

Just wanted to congratulate Deshawn & Charuto on their awesome performances last Friday night at Rumble On The Rocks 4! First of all in case you guy's didn't know Deshawn took this fight on only 1 weeks notice and had to drop quite a bit of weight to fight. Before the fight his opponent(Santino Defranco) made some comments that was very inappropriate. He said that Deshawn "doesn't know what he's getting into" and also made claims that Deshawn is "coming in heavy for this fight" when in reality Deshawn weighed in at 159lbs. (they fought at 160) Anyways Deshawn dominated the fight from the get go and unfortunately while trying to base himself unintentionally dropped a knee that grazed Santino on the forhead. Santino made a big fuss about it saying that his eye is hurt and that he didn't want to fight and the referee called the boughta win for Santino by disqualifying Deshawn. The crowd went crazy because they knew the knee was unintentional. Next on was Charuto's fight and boy was it a fight! Gil Castillo (UFC Veteran) had a gameplan, and that gameplan meant trying to beat Charuto on the stand-up. Little did he know that Charuto was ready for him as Charuto took Gil apart piece by piece on the stand-up! Gil had absolutely no chance against Charuto and eventually couldn't answer the bell on the beginning of the 3rd round. Charuto showed that he is a major force in the 170lb weight class as he will dominate the stan-up and the ground! Congrats to both of these warriors from Team HMC!

Thanks Dr. Lau!!!!!
Date: Tuesday, September 30, 2003

Hey HMC'ers, what's up!!! I just wanted to post a quick message to let you guy's know that Dr. Lau has given the school a very generous donation to fix up pur school (heavy bags, wall mounts etc etc.) Personally I was very touched by the kindness that Dr. Lau has showed our school. The night of the Superbrawl, Dr. Lau and I was talking and he asked me why the equipment was getting run down and asked what we were planning to do, anyhow I told him that we would probably do a fundraiser to generate the funds for these repairs, however, Dr. Lau told me "what about all the students that are suffering now, not being able to use these equipment? And what about making a great frist impression on new students?" My reply was that we would have to wait till we could generate these funds. A few days had passed and Dr. Lau showed up one night and handed my wife an envelope. Inside was a very generous donation and a letter that said "Please use this money to purchase new equipment for the students of HMC!" It was not signed as I know Dr. Lau is a very modest person and would want to just donate this anonymously, however, I personally was touched by his kindness for the donation and believe me, he did it for his friends and fellow students that train at the gym. I know that Dr. Lau does not check this forum, so I would like to ask that all members that do check in to please take the time and thank Dr. Lau for his generousity!

Well, I've found out that the server that hosts www.hmckickboxing.com has forbidden the use of "Greymatter". Greymatter is a widely used program to keep your sites news updated. Now that the server has disabled this program, we will have to use this method. There should be no major difference in the way that you view news on this page.

Date: Monday, February 10, 2003

Sorry folks, the server seems to be acting up for our website. In the meantime, I am using the news posting script off of my personal page so that you folks can still receive all the current HMC news! I am going to see why the normal news poster isn't functioning correctly, and hopefully, that will be back online soon. Thanks for your understanding.
